Strings, Harps, Child Choirs. Fuellsand rallied a bunch of friends from the extended 12rec. network round themselves and created an atmospheric and intense collection of dark song hybrids. The path of minimal music, indierock and electronica, prescribed by the 3 EPs is getting expanded by different elements: Jazz-Trumpet player G. v. Abendroth and DJ Freeze focus and shape material that turned out rather ambient in the past, the love songs (now living in Berlin) adds explicit beats and Nils, Mic...

[audio]Corpus Callosum - Uniquity [IA004] - Corpus Callosum
Uniquity might be the soundtrack to a horror film about a man, bristling with EEG electrode pads, setting out into the murky underworld of his own unconscious to murder his multiple personalities. Or it could be the musicking of a child, fallen down into a well, playing contentedly with her Radio Shack toys while the adults overhead fret and scurry about purposefully. Or possibly it's the sonic wallpaper of the doorless oubliette into which Danaƫ was thrust; but the fickle Zeus makes the occasi...

Deadlocked wrestling with philistine forces that adhere to tradition and habit at all costs. Openness to creative and even radical innovation would resolve this struggle, but alas. [audio]Restricted - Reconsiderate
I can remember being free to do and say as I please, but nowadays I'm restricted by obligations and leverage. This song really churns along and fits my classical definition of "industrial" pretty well: it sounds like machinery with gears and conveyor belts and such. Just make sure you don't blast it too loud. There's some serious distortion going on at various points. It could hurt your ears or, perhaps more importantly to some, your precious audio equipment...

[audio]Simple Complexity Remix (with Graham Paasch) - Reconsiderate & Graham Paasch
Based on a score by Graham Paasch. I found this score particularly interesting because it shifts between a number of different time signatures, and that lights up my interest like a tungsten firecracker. Graham was open to me remixing the song, and so now the world has this fun little track to enjoy for all of time. In my remix, I changed up a number of things: the arrangement was totally redone from the ground up, I wrote a percussion layer to accompany the melodic score, and I even wound up ad...

Sarcasm, as usual. This one's about being left hanging by someone or something right in the middle of whatever dynamic you'd had going on. [audio]What am I doing? - Reconsiderate
Smooth dance-type track, with some raps thrown in for good measure. It's pretty different from my usual style... I'd thought up some of the lyrics while driving around one day. I was feeling like they had some good potential, so I went home to start writing and recording a full-on song including them. After I finished writing it, when the dust settled and I regained consciousness, I said: "What the.....

Banishing those meddlesome sinners. Based on Taoist principles and an old quote that goes something like this: "Original sin is man's tendency to believe that there is something wrong with God's creation. [audio]Withstand, With Sit Down - Reconsiderate
A somewhat simple instrumental once described as "having soul". Most of what you hear in this song was written by Cyborg. He had written a bunch of experimental drum & synth patterns in order to show me a new mixing technique that he was exploring. I wound up thinking they were pretty cool, and so took the time to arrange and mix a few of them. While doing so, I added a few extra elements (the scratching noises and light extended pads) to help fill the song out a bit.

The monad knows exactly what it knows and no more, which is a finite quantity of information. Everything else must be extrapolated based on what is assumed to be probable, or what is boldly asserted. In either case, the extrapolations (usually) amount to little more than inconsequential background relative to the monad, so one can continue running on assumptions like this until further notice, meanwhile focusing one's energies in the foreground on what really matters...
